"Matty's Place"- Dedicated May 8, 2004 On May 8, 2004, one-year after Matty's passing, the community built playground in Matthew's honor, was dedicated and opened to the children of Hazard School and the entire community. The playground is completely handicap accessible with a rubber flooring to accomodate special needs children. $100,000 was raised from South Kingstown student fundraisers, individual, family and generous business donations primarily from the South Kingstown community. The playground is a pure testament to Matthew, a boy with boundless energy and a big smile. The playground is located adjacent to the Hazard School at 153 School Street, South Kingstown, RI. |
