The Sargent Rehabilitation Center is holding a “Link to Learning, Parent Workshop Series”. On March 29, 2012, Dr. John Gaitanis, will be presenting at a workshop entitled “Seizures, Epilepsy and Autism”. All workshops are free and open to parents. The Matty Fund awards $1,000 annual scholarships for college bound RI high school seniors, residing in the State of Rhode Island, and diagnosed with Epilepsy. The scholarship committee will award up to two applicants per year an unrestricted amount of $1,000 to be used towards education expenses. Join us for Camp Matty, a therapeutic horseback riding summer day camp for children living with epilepsy. A week filled with fun, arts and crafts and games but the focus is on the children experiencing daily horseback riding and learning to care for their horses. Friendships are formed among children and parents. Camp Matty is supported by wonderful volunteers, including medical staff from the Children’s Neurodevelopment Center at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
